Today’s Scripture

 Romans 16: 25-27 (NRSVACE)

Now to God who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but is now disclosed, and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the Gentiles, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory for ever! Amen.

Reflection

The opening phrase of today’s reading sums up all that Advent and Christmas reveal: ‘God who is able…’. Paul invites us in this doxology, or shout of praise, to focus our attention on the God who is able and to respond with joyful praise and worship.

Invitation: Take 10 or 15 minutes today to call to mind, and perhaps note down, what God shows He is able to do through the events of Advent and Christmas.

What has God shown He is able to do in your life?

Then spend some time giving God glory and praise.
