Goodness
“Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life.” This line from Psalm 23 reassures us that we are always under the care of the Good God. God wants good for each one of us.
Although we all have times of sorrow and pain in our lives, we have this promise that we shall dwell in the Lord’s own house for ever. We cannot know what this might be like from our limited existence in time and space, but we trust and hope in God’s Goodness.

Scripture
Psalm 23 NRSVACE
A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.
Conversation: Talk to Jesus in your own words as a friend
Final Prayer: End with a formal prayer such as the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father.
