Day 9

Reflection

Jesus moves through towns and villages, teaching, proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom, and healing those who are suffering. His words are matched by compassionate action – people don’t just hear about God’s love, they experience it.
Crowds begin to follow him, drawn by hope and by the sense that something new is happening. Wherever Jesus goes, lives are being touched and restored.
What draws us to Jesus today – his words, his actions, or the hope that he still brings healing and wholeness into our own lives?

Today’s Prayer

Preparation: Begin by stilling; then dedicating the time of prayer to God and asking God that all you think, feel and imagine are for the glory of God.

Gift:  Ask for what you desire.  Suggestion: To know Jesus more clearly, love him more dearly, and follow him more nearly.

Setting: A Scripture reading to ponder – Lectio Divina.

Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.  The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

Conversation: Talk to Jesus in your own words as a friend

Final Prayer: End with a formal prayer such as the Lord’s Prayer/Our Father.
